Hotel Tips

Now that we have two kiddos, hotel travel has slightly changed. My oldest has started sleeping in a big boy bed at home, so trying to put him in a pack-n-play is like trying to put a cat in water.  I bought a pea pod tent at a garage sale recently and that has been Mack’s new travel bed.  It means one more thing to haul in and out but worth it! Although I must admit, he tosses and turns so much that the sound of his feet on the tent drive me slightly crazy! Andy sleeps with me or in a pack-n-play.  Both boys travel with their flannel blankies, a light Cotten blankie and their woolies.  That way, no matter where we are, their bed is made up the same and hopefully provides some sort of normalcy to our crazy lives on the road.  If I can get a room with two beds, Mack much prefers that.  Although just 3 days ago he fell out of bed for the first time.  It scared him and caused lots of tears but it didn’t deter him away from the big boy bed. My husband slept with him the next couple nights because we were more worried then him!  If you’re ever able to get a hotel room with two rooms, I highly recommend it! We love the Residence Inn Suites.  The boys get their own space and we can stay up and be adults for a little while after bedtime.  I also like to set up a diaper area that way if one of them needs a change in the middle of the night, I don’t have to fumble around for what I need!

Where are some your favorite places to stay on the road?
